Joey Miller, 24, is a professional baseball player for the Roswell Invaders, an Independent League organization in New Mexico. Joey has always had a passion for baseball and fitness. Growing up in Hagerstown, Maryland, Joey played baseball for South Hagerstown High School. He went on to play two seasons at Frederick Community College before transferring to Concord University for his junior and senior seasons.

While at FCC, Joey batted a career .368 with 6 homers and 30 RBIs. After his transfer to Concord, Joey’s numbers skyrocketed. In his two seasons at Concord, Joey batted a career .366 with 28 homers, 37 doubles, and 141 RBIs. Joey has a lengthy list of collegiate accolades and awards, most notably for placing in the top three for the NCAA Division 2 National Player of the Year 2014.

After Joey’s collegiate career, he signed an Independent League contract with the Roswell Invaders following the 2014 draft. In his first professional season Joey hit a career .357 with 3 homeruns and 18 RBIs. Following the 2014 season, he was promoted to the Washington Wildthings of the Frontier League. During Joey’s first season as a Wildthing, he suffered a terrible knee injury after playing only 18 games. During the 2016 offseason, Joey had knee surgery and is now 100% and ready to get back on the field. He has resigned with the Roswell Invaders in hopes of making it to the Big Leagues

Outside of his professional baseball career, Joey is the Assistant General Manager of Extra Innings in Frederick, Maryland. He has worked there for many years and enjoys working with aspiring professional baseball player; acting as a mentor and role model to them. His love for fitness has also inspired Joey to become certified in personal training. Being certified in proper fitness and health is an important part of being an athlete and Joey would like to use these certifications to better his own athletic ability as well as the aspiring baseball players he mentors and coaches at Extra Innings. In his down time Joey enjoys hanging out with his family, friends and loving girlfriend.
